Dr. Rupesh Vakil
Pulmonologist
A graduate of The University of Texas in Austin, Dr. Vakil earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He then completed his residency training in internal medicine followed by his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.
Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, Dr. Vakil has been in practice since 2001. He specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine and his clinical interests focus on pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and the diagnosis and treatment of lung related conditions.
He belongs to professional organizations such as the American Thoracic Society Member and American College of Chest Physician. He oversees the critical care committee at Memorial Hermann Greaters Height Hospital and is the pulmonary director at nursing facilities around the greater Houston area.
Dr. Vakil’s practice philosophy embraces compassionate, comprehensive and responsive specialty care to his patients who are 18 years and older. He provides individual treatment plans and the highest level of care to each patient. He is fluent in both Hindi and Gujarati.
Dr. Vakil lives in Houston with his wife and twins and enjoys sports, travel and music.
